HOW TO STAY REVIVED
‘Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe.’
There are some things we need to be reminded of constantly for our safety as Christians. One of such things is how to stay revived. Now that we are accepted in the beloved through faith in Christ Jesus, there are things we need to do to stir up ourselves in the faith we have received.
HOW TO STAY REVIVED
Continuous Fellowship: The individualistic idea that most Christians have today is not biblical. Fellowship with the brethren is essential for growth and accountability. Realize that in order to stay revived in your walk with God, your local church and your brethren in Christ would play an important role. Hence, ensure you belong to the right church and surround yourself with the right friends.
Philippians 1:25, ‘And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith’
Romans 1:11 -12, ‘For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; that is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.’
Philemon 1:6, ‘That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus’
Romans 15:1-2, ‘We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good to edification’
Gal 6:1 -2, ‘Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ’
Consistently acknowledging who you are in Christ:
James 1:22 – 25,
22 ‘But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholds himself, and goes his way, and straightway forgets what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.’
From this text we see that to be a doer of the word, we need to consistently feed ourselves with it. If a Christian finds himself down in his walk with God, it is because his muscles are not being exercised. Be a doer of the word; remind yourself daily of who you are in Christ by studying the word and praying on your convictions.
