What Praying in Tongues Affords us
” He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself;” – 1 Cor 14:4 a
Most Christians do not receive answers to their prayers, not because God does not hear their prayers, but because they do not ask as they ought to. Many a time we fall into sensual prayers which is not consistent with Gods will for us.
” Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” – – James 4:3
1. Praying in the spirit helps us to be more precise about our prayers.
The Holy Spirit helps us with the “what to pray” and “how we ought to pray”
” Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. – Rom 8.26-27
And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”
God’s Spirit synchronizes our prayers so that we are in tune with God’s will.
2. Praying in tongues also gives us Actionable intelligence
God’s Spirit explores the deep counsels of God and inputs them into our spirit.
” But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.” – 1 cor 2.10-12.
The Holy Ghost helps us to realize, comprehend and acknowledge God’s counsels for us. When we speak in tongues, we speak mysteries – wisdom; Actionable intelligence. By accessing this actionable intelligence, we are automatically caused to follow God’s will. Ezekiel 36.27, Isaiah 30.21
3. Praying in tongues also charges our spirit man Eph 5.18
