You might have heard one of the most respected preacher of the gospel saying we should not celebrate christmas because it is an idol worship or something of such. This post is neither to affirm or contradict this claim (if true), but to give you a chance to judge for yourself.
Ok I agree that the birth of Jesus might not have fallen on the 25th of December and the claim that this particular day used to be dedicated to an idol worship. But Christmas is more than a day, it is about a person.
To go straight to what I intend to do in this post, kindly read this portion of the bible, thereafter you judge, whether it is 25th of December or which ever day, IS CHRISTMAS MEANT TO BE CELEBRATED?
Luke 2:8-12 There were shepherd camping in the neighborhood. They had set night watches over their sheep. Suddenly, God’s angel stood among them and God’s glory blazed around them. They were terrified. The angel said, “Don’t be afraid. I’m here to announce a great and joyful event that is meant for everybody, worldwide: A Savior has just been born in David’s town, a Savior who is Messiah and Master. This is what you’re to look for: a baby wrapped in a blanket and lying in a manger.”
13-14 At once the angel was joined by a huge angelic choir singing God’s praises:
Glory to God in the heavenly heights, Peace to all men and women on earth who please him.
19-20 Mary kept all these things to herself, holding them dear, deep within herself. The shepherds returned and let loose, glorifying and praising God for everything they had heard and seen. It turned out exactly the way they’d been told!
The very first announcement of the birth of Christ to the public was by angels in their numbers and enveloped by glory, and in their words, they described the birth as “a great and joyful event”. Which was immediately followed by a huge angelic choir singing God’s praises. If you don’t call that celebration, then what do you call it? To me, God was giving us a pattern to follow.
The ball is in your court, it’s up to you to decide. Is Christmas meant to be celebrated? I will rather ask in this manner, Is the birth of Jesus meant to be celebrated?. Whether yours is the 25th of December or any other day of the year, I choose to do like the shepherd, “glorifying and praising God”
DO NOT CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS: REALLY ??? It is up to you. Thank you for reading. Please, share your thought on this. I promise to post it.
And your christmas is not complete if you don’t have KERESIMESI by Olivz ft ADEade

What wisdom, sir!
We all know Jesus was born, and he later died for us all, the most important thing ever done. We should nev. What’s the point if you’re celebrating a random day and not saved? Or you’re not telling the world that is celebrating ‘love’?The early church didn’t do it, it was institutionalized by the world, ‘Santa Claus?’ Where that come from? I doubt Jesus is pleased wih Christmas. How about the day of evangelism? That would be better, that was the last and direct message and purpose to Christians. It may not be idol worship but is definitely a worldly event. ‘Come out from among them and be ye seperate. 2 Cor 6:17. Atheists celebrate Christmas, there’s Christmas bash. The underlying purpose of our life is love God and obey his word in totality. We should always work in the consciousness of what Jesus did for us everyday and not need be reminded on a special day. I sincerely doubt Heaven is pleased with Dec 25th
Beautiful reply Dee, I really excited to see it, at least someone could be bold with their opinion about the whole Christmas thing. But if you are careful to follow the theme of the blogpost and the topic itself, you will notice it’s entirely about whether to celebrate and had nothing to do with how it’s been celebrated. I don’t doubt the fact that the world has gotten it wrong on how they celebrate the day and it now reduced to a public holiday but should we erase the whole memory or marking the birth of the saviour because the world is not celebrating right? Why can’t we rather emphasize the “CHRIST” in Christmas and replace the face of Santa Claus with the baby in the manger or the lamb on the cross.
Thank you so much for the share, your point definitely can’t be sidelined. I hope we get more opinions.
I rest my case
