TOO LONG TO BE LOST

So I dreamt of rapture again last week, and like most dreams of rapture, it started as fearsome and horrific, but it turned out to be glorious – I mean, seeing the heavens and the Angelic beings was awesome.
Too long to be lost” is just a phrase I made out of Kenny K’ore lyrics of “Dream of the end
Note: This is independent of my own dream

Eternity; too long to be lost…

If you were to analyse or rather, meditate on that phrase, what would change about how you presently live your life? Wouldn’t you sell all you have to get eternity if it is offered in the market? Wouldn’t you cut or rip out a body part if that was what stood between you and eternity?  Maybe if eternity had been just a million years, it probably wouldn’t have been worth your all or self-denial. However,   it is eternal, and a million years is an insignificant part of eternity.

“And as he was setting out on his journey, a man ran up and knelt before him and asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”… And Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. 9 And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.”

I will help by making a few points that are compulsory and others that might be necessary to meet if you must inherit eternal life.

1. YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN

In reply, Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again (Or born from above; of God).” John 3:3 (NIV)

2. YOU MUST REPENT

Now when they heard this they were stung (cut) to the heart, and they said to Peter and the rest of the apostles. Brethren, what shall we do? And Peter answered them, Repent (change your views and purpose to accept the will of God in your inner selves instead of rejecting it, turn to God and change the way you think and act, turn from sin, return to God) and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of and release from your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:37-38 (AMP)

3. YOU MUST BELIEVE AND CONFESS THAT JESUS IS LORD

Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 (AMP)

4. YOU MUST FORSAKE ALL FORMS OF UNRIGHTEOUSNESS AND WRONGDOING

Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality, nor cheats, swindlers and thieves, nor greedy graspers, nor drunkards, nor foulmouthed revilers and slanderers, nor extortionists and robbers will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God.  And such some of you were [once]. But you were washed clean (purified by a complete atonement for sin and made free from the guilt of sin), and you were consecrated, and you were justified [pronounced righteous, by trusting] in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the [Holy] Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (AMP)

5. YOU MUST WALK ON THE NARROW PATH

“Don’t look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with sure-fire, easygoing formulas for a successful life that can be practised in your spare time. Don’t fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do.  The way to life—to God!—is vigorous and requires total attention.  OR COMMONLY KNOWN LIKE THIS; “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Matthew 7:13-14

6. YOU MUST TRUST GOD’S ABILITY TO KEEP YOU FROM FALLING

Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, Jude 1:24 (ESV)
I believe this post has helped someone back on their route to eternal glory. You might need to join a church, change your church, join a fellowship group, get a friend with like minds to encourage each other to maturity and most importantly, be a courier of this message of the gospel that saved you.
God bless you and happy Sunday.
