For the past twelve weeks on this journey, we’ve been looking at what each letter stands for in SIGNIFICANCE. Today’s post is an excerpt from each post.
I strongly suggest that you take out time to read every post and I guarantee that you will learn a lot that will change your life.
S——–SUCCESS and SACRIFICE
Sacrifice means to give up one thing for something else we believe is worth more. Success is about paying the price of sacrifice.
When you believe you can have whatever you want, without giving up anything in return, you can never fully embrace and enjoy your choices.
In the end, one of the most important questions we should ask ourselves when evaluating our dreams, desires, and goals, may not be, “What am I willing to do to attain them?” but “What am I willing to give up?”

Integrity is simply doing the right thing at all times. Having integrity is living in accordance to your system of values, it is being confident to stand for the truth; keeping to your word and being honest with everyone.
To live with integrity is to literally integrate what you think, know and believe with what you say and to integrate what you say with what you do. Living with integrity is not just something you have, but something that you do.
Integrity has been associated with a state of being sound, whole, doing right, and soundness of moral character. It won’t be wrong to say that it takes some level of Insanity not to live a life of integrity.

Nothing happens by chance. Nothing happens on its own. You can’t just wake up to significance or suddenly become significant. Asides the fact that you have to pay the price, you also have to reference the God of all significance. Proverbs 16:33(NLT) Says that” We may throw the dice, but the Lord determines how they fall”.
There is a significant God that brings about the significant you.

Nature is the basic or inherent features, character, or qualities of something. It is what a thing entails, the reality of a thing. The composition etc.
The nature of significance comes down to you. It is who or what you value yourself to be. And this comes with a lot of responsibility. What you are made up of is what you will be known for. The value you add is what you are made up of.
So what are you made up of?
Significance doesn’t come to the one that does nothing with what he has.
Significance is hundred percent responsibility, Nobody can be successful or significant on your behalf. It takes hard work, Perseverance, Resilience, Diligence, Persistence, Sacrifice and Faith. It’s a good thing to dream but know when to wake up.
Individuality is real personalized self-choice. The self-knowing mind of man proclaims itself in every deed, thought or action, and is truly the only guarantee of his individuality.
You should develop individuality to differentiate yourself to succeed in this competitive world.
The journey of life and the journey to significance is an individual race.
If everyone is doing the same thing, what makes you different?
F———Faith and Focus
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Faith relates to trust, belief, confidence and conviction you express for something.
When we talk about faith, we are talking of the faith that relies in God for significance.
Focus is the center of interest or activity. It is super directing your attention on a thing you want to achieve so dearly. Focus requires you to concentrate yourself on a particular subject.
Faith and focus go a long way in determining the kind of life we live here on earth. We have to have faith in what we should focus on. In our journey to significance, our focus is to be significant and we can only make progress on this journey by activating our faith.
Your focus determines your reality.
Faith and focus makes significance a reality
I——————-INFLUENCE AND IMPACT
“The greater the impact you want to make, the greater your influence needs to be”. John C Maxwell
Influence is the capacity to have an effect on the character, development, or behavior of someone or something, or the effect itself. And impact is a marked effect of influence.
In whatsoever you do, your words, your actions, at your work, influencing others is about having the confidence and willingness to do something, make things happen and make an impact
If you don’t have influence, you will not be able to make impacts and there will be nothing significant about you.
C—————COURAGE AND CONFIDENCE
Confidence can be defined as a feeling of assurance or a state of being certain.
Courage is defined as the ability to do something that you know is right or good even though it involves taking a risk.
While building confidence through the practice of trust, belief, faith, and focus is a really good idea, it needs courage to take the first step.
On this journey of life, there are many instances with probabilities, where we are faced with uncertainties about outcomes. In these situations, you most likely are not going to become very confident and the lack of courage can keep you from even participating.
Courage is simply confidence at ease.
Attitude is said to be a disposition or a tendency to respond positively or negatively towards a certain idea, person or situation.
Attitude influences an individual’s action and character.
The attitude of significance is positive.
Success or failure depends more upon attitude than upon capacity. Your own resolution to be significant all depends on you.
ATTITUDE is everything
“People may hear your words but they feel your attitude” John C Maxwell.
The concept of nurture highlights the importance of social environments – who you’re with, and not who you’re born to – and its significant influence on behavior and thinking ability.
We learn from the experiences we gain from our environment that goes a long way to define the way we live.
The hard truth is that the environment that you find yourself in, whether favorable or not, is the product of your own life
You attract whatever we think about, good or bad

Creativity is the formation of something new. It can be defined as the process of producing something that is both original and valuable.
Five levels of creativity were proposed many years ago by Taylor (1959) which corresponds to certain types of creative persons that we relate to our present age. It describes creativity as emergent, innovative, inventive, productive and expressive.
God is the ultimate source of creativity. Without God, we can do nothing. He created the world and everything in it including us. His level of creativity is beyond our human comprehension and for us to exercise some level of creativity we need to reference him at every point
The more creative you are, the more significant you become.
There’s is nothing new under the sun, creativity is what makes the difference.

E is the last word in SIGNIFICANCE and it sums everything up.
Excellence is a quality which is unusually good and surpasses ordinary standards.
Excellence comes with responsibility, Diligence and Hard work. It’s almost impossible to talk about significance and not mention excellence.
There’s no reason to compromise on your integrity and your values, it pays to do what is right.
Excellence is being the best you can be. God blesses excellence not mediocrity
Can you recall Rancho’s quotes from the movie 3 Idiots? He said, “Pursue excellence, and success will chase you–pants down”.
The significance is as a result of Excellence.
Excellence is an Attitude!!
