When was the last time you had a really good and throaty laugh? I’m talking about a really deep-throaty-teary eye-water coming from your nose, about–to–wet–your–pants, body-vibrating kind of laugh?

“Laughter is the best medicine” is a popular cliché that has been so used that the depth of truth in the saying has almost washed away. Thankfully, the truth in the statement still rings true as the scripture also confirms it, “A cheerful heart is good medicine…” – Proverbs 17:22 (NIV).
Laughing has as much physical benefit as spiritual benefits, it is pertinent that you laugh today!

1. LAUGHTER HELPS YOU LIVE LONGER.
Do you know that laughing has a great effect on your respiratory system, blood flow and brains to, all which contribute to your life span. Proverbs 14:30 says, “A relaxed attitude lengthens a man’s life.” (TLB)
Laughter usually triggers the dilation or expansion of the tissue that forms the inner lining of blood vessels thereby increasing blood flow. Laughing helps to regulate breathing and flush out the lungs. It leads to an immediate increase in heart rate, respiratory rate and oxygen consumption. Laughter allows you to breathe deeper, an also improve your respiratory health especially for those with respiratory ailments such as asthma.
So, you want to live longer, laugh today!
2. LAUGHTER IMPROVES YOUR RELATIONSHIPS
A sense of humor is very important in interpersonal relationships and attraction. A healthy senses of humor helps to bond friends and family.
Nobody wants to be around someone who is always moody or grumpy.
As laughing can be contagious, you will find out that you help others loosen up and you help lift their mood too. You will be seen as a positive and humorous influence.

Students will most likely learn better from a teacher who uses laughter and humor to pass his message. Laughter helps to break up the routine and help student relax thereby helping them absorb learning better. Laughing can also help see things from another perspective thereby enhancing creativity.
Here is my piece of advice: Learn to laugh. You could go for a comedy show visit/follow a comedy blog, read a funny book, smile at people you meet and yeah, smile at yourself in the mirror from time to time.
