Thankful for His Love

…My dear friends, I’m not writing anything new here. This is the oldest commandment in the book, and you’ve known it from day one. It’s always been implicit in the Message you’ve heard~1 John 2:7 MSG

I chose this entry verse because I liked the fact that John started with “My dear friends, I’m not writing anything new here”.  I’m also not writing anything new here and most importantly, you are my friends ?.
Have you ever felt like you were at a standpoint, and that nothing was happening in your life (or better still nothing tangible)? Have you ever felt like you couldn’t see God at work in your life? Ah, well that was exactly how I felt today.
I was driving home when I started feeling overwhelmed, like somehow nothing was happening at this stage of my life and I didn’t know what to do bla bla bla…
All of a sudden, it was like something changed in my heart (I’m super sure it was the Holy Spirit at work ?) and it was like I shifted places- literally. My heart became so overwhelmed with thankfulness and right there in my car I started talking to Jesus, telling Him how grateful I was (and still am) for Him ( I bet the other drivers thought I was crazy for talking to myself like that! Hahaha).
Here’s what happened, as I thanked him for one thing, I realized there was so much to be thankful for. As I worshipped,  my eyes became open to Jesus. It was as though thanking Him made me superbly aware of Him with me, His love for me, His power working on my behalf. It was awesome! I’m still basking in the awesomeness as I write.
I knew right there and then that I wanted you to know the beauty and strength in thankfulness (If you’ve been in church frequently, you just might have heard your pastor preach about it ?). If it counts for anything (and I pray it does), I want to remind you that Jesus is with you. That changes everything because if He is with you then it means that He is for you. He is definitely not against you.
I pray today that you will be overwhelmed by the Holy Spirit to abound with thankfulness in your heart so that you experience much more God’s Love for you today (More like furious obsession with you today 🙂 )

With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.

And you will say in that day:

“Give thanks to the Lord,

call upon his name,

make known his deeds among the peoples,

proclaim that his name is exalted.“Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously;

let this be made known in all the earth.Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion,

for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.”

– Isa 12:3-6

Yours In Love,

Remi.
