5 Women You Should Not Marry

Yes, there are women you should not marry. In summary, the wrong ones. Socrates, a notable philosopher, once said (allegedly), “By all means marry; if you get a good wife, you’ll become happy; if you get a bad one, you’ll become a philosopher.”

Quite straightforward, yes? No! Because for some men, a word is not enough for the wise. So to sound the alarm louder, here are some scriptures to drive the point home: Proverbs 14:1, Proverbs 21:9, Proverbs 27:15, and Proverbs 5:20, to mention a few.

That said, if you don’t want to become a philosopher, here are 5 women you should not marry:

1. She is not a christian/You don’t have the same doctrinal beliefs:

This is important because what are you doing getting married to someone who isn’t saved to begin with? The Bible says we should not be unequally yoked with an unbeliever, so if not for any reason, follow what the Bible says.

Also, it is one thing for her to be a christian, it is another thing for you both to hold different doctrinal beliefs. If so, you will definitely have problems in your marriage! Even being roommates with someone with a different doctrinal belief causes arguments, how much more a spouse.

You have to have similar doctrinal beliefs, if possible, be under the same pastor, it’s easier and better that way. That way, the both of you will be exposed to the same teachings.

2. She is spiritual but not your spec

Spirituality is good but if she is not your spec or you’re just not attracted to her, please don’t marry her! This is someone you’re going to spend the rest of your life with, you can’t marry her based on how spiritual she is and think that’ll uphold your marriage. Spirituality is important, but physical attraction is equally as important!

3. She doesn’t respect people

If she doesn’t respect that waiter or cleaner or gate man, chances are that she will also not respect you. Don’t say things like “she loves me” or “she’s different when she’s with me”, hmm DANGEROUS!

4. She can’t bear the burden of Christ

This is very important if you have a ministerial call on your life! When you’re in the talking stage with her or if you’re already dating and you realize that this lady doesn’t want to marry a pastor or that she can’t cope with the responsibilities that comes along with being a pastor’s wife, then it is advisable to call off whatever you have with her because the marriage won’t work. She has to be able to cope with the responsibilities or there will be problems.

5. She doesn’t live up to her expectations

Some ladies have a list of the perfect man but do not even live up to their own expectations. She may say she wants a prayerful man but is not prayerful or that she wants someone who is studious with the Bible and she doesn’t even read her Bible! Strange right? But it happens.

So if she doesn’t work on herself and just expects her man to have everything, then don’t do it! It is important to be what we expect from people to a certain extent, because your spec has their spec also.
