Chance the Rapper caught the attention of the Christian community when he released his Grammy-winning third mixtape featuring songs like How Great and Blessings which are clearly Christian songs, followed by a very Christian performance at the Grammys, doing a remake Chris Tomlin’s “How Great Is Our God”, featuring well-known gospel artists Kirk Franklin and Tamela Mann.
This was followed by questions like “Is Chance the Rapper a christian”? But this was very doubtful seeing the other songs on the same project among other things.
In a recent post on Instagram, Chance the rapper announced that he is taking a sabbatical so he can spend time reading his bible and knowing more of God’s word. He stated how everyone quotes the bible but very few have actually taken the time to seek what it says.

What should be a Christian reaction to such a move?

I have heard many Christians talk about the various implication of Chance the Rapper or any popular artist coming to faith and reflecting such in their music. We are talking about the gospel reaching more people, more people who are more unlikely to hear it, and if that doesn’t excite you, I don’t know what else would.
