BUILDING A LIFESTYLE OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH

Ephesians 4:11-12

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; [12] For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

God’s plan is for us to grow spiritually. God wants the unbeliever to get the life of God in him. After being born again, he becomes filled with the Holyspirit and the next most emphasized thing in the epistles after being filled with the Holyghost is spiritual growth.

There are certain things growing up spiritually will fix ( Prosperity, healing in christ, inheritance, authority etc)

Time doesn’t make somebody grow neither do ministry gifts.

Facilitators of spiritual growth:

1. WORD OF GOD

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; [12] For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: [13] Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: [14] That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; [15] But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: – Ephesians 4:11-15 KJV

God wants us to grow in the knowledge of the son (Christ), immature believers are tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine, Growing up in the knowledge of Christ stabilizes us.

As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: – 1 Peter 2:2 KJV

What’s going to get you out of the baby hood stage? The word of God! Jesus is the living word of God and this living word is given to unveil the written word

2. PRAYER

Especially praying in tongues.

He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church. – 1 Corinthians 14:4 KJV

You build up yourself on your most holy faith by praying in the Holyghost. our primary building comes from God’s word but there is a building up you get through prayer in tongues.

3. LISTENING TO MESSAGES

And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith; – Philippians 1:25 KJV

DO THIS:

Pray that God helps you to be consistent in living a lifestyle of growth, that you effectively and consciously take time to daily study the Word of God and to pray.  (Colossians 1:9-10)

Prayer Focus

• Pray for strength for members of the Church all around, that their faith wont fail but would wax stronger.
• prayer for the unsaved that they would receive a change of heart and come to the light of the glorious gospel.
