I am a Christian, What's my role?

I am a Christian, What’s my Role?

2 Corinthians 5:15

“And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”

As a Christian, there is no such thing as “My life”. The Christian doesn’t have a life, the only life he has is the life of Christ. We were dead in sins destined for eternal death and Christ died our death and gave us his life. Hence a Christian has only the life of Christ, he lives the life of Christ. Galatians 2:20.

Your passion must reflect the passion of Christ. The gospel must be at the core of your heart. 1 Timothy 2:3-4

As Christians, we have three roles core to the heart of Christ.

1)      THE “RECRUITER”:

Romans 10:1

“Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.”

We are intentional about recruiting people for the gospel. We are not casual about our relationships, we persuade them to come to a knowledge of the truth; in words and in prayers. We see everyone through the lens of the gospel: “Someone for whom Christ died”.

2)      THE “DISCIPLER”:

Philippians 1:25

“And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith;”

When we succeed at recruiting people for the Gospel, then we must ensure they are properly groomed in sound doctrine. It is our job to disciple them.

Acts 2:42

“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.”

We ensure that we spend time with God’s people in fellowship, helping them grow and experience progress and joy in the faith. We ought to strengthen one another on the course of our walk here on earth. Hence, the need for fellowship.

Nothing must outshine your passion for the gospel, Like Jesus, let Compassion drive you to pray for and teach other people.

Be intentional about your relationships today, See people in the light of the gospel.
