Hey Champ,
I want to tell you how sorry I am for the mistakes I made while training you and all the bitterness I must have cost you along the way. I hide my face in the comfort that I am only human and I have realised my mistakes. I wish I could go back in time and correct my mistakes but the bitter truth is that it cannot happen.
I beg your pardon because in this letter, you have to come to the realisation that my mistakes will make you a better father than I was and will make you happier than I would ever be (that is the prayer of every father).
Son, one of the greatest mistakes I made was assuming that the best I could give you was my financial support all through your life. I fulfilled that but I have come to discover that money cannot buy the connection of a father and a son. I wish I was there for you emotionally and I wish I was there to show you how to be a man and not write like I am doing now; I have made my mistakes but you have to be there for my grandson and enjoy the pleasures family brings because when the journey goes dark, family will be there for you. When all the rest leave, family will stay.
Finally, I want you to know that family is never always blood because through your earthly life journey, you would find those who will be family to you and you will never let them go because they won’t let you go.
Love you son,
Dad.
