Deeper Intimacy With God

So my heart went on another level of desire for intimacy with the Holy Spirit sometime last week… Not like I was not fellowshipping, I just did not have a time that was like, “this is OUR time”

How many of us feel like when we share a testimony of progress we begin to decline in that thing. I feel like that now. But as much as this sounds like testimony, I am really amazed at what is happening.

So I will share.

So I was gisting with God and was like bruh, we don’t have a time we chill. What time is cool? I really want this. Not like I said bruh but the conversation went sort of like me asking for a suitable time because Okenwa can be lazy sometimes.

And then I was like “is 4am okay?” I don’t even know how I came up with that time sef considering that I sleep late ?

But I felt peace and I began saying God please help me o because I like sleep sha. So fast forward to Sunday night, I sleep knowing that day was the first of the meeting time which was 4am Monday. Only to wake up at a time of the night when I don’t normally do so and I check my time and it was 3:48am.

I was like ???

God you sha are not sleeping sha.

I was just on my bed smiling like ahn ahn, God you actually did wake me up. So I sharply stood up at 3:58 and started my devotion and just gisting añd asking questions based on what I was reading in scriptures.

But sleep started catching me.

Mennn I said lemme kneel than and pray, fammm you know what happened na.

But I stood up excited that I now had a fellowship time. I still thought it was fluke sha like maybe after this first day it won’t work again.

I slept last night again and woke up knowing that I wasn’t late to the fellowship. It was 3:58am. I’m like God!!!!!! ????. Did devotion and I was mind blown. Fam fellowship with Holy Spirit though ?.

So I honestly cannot boast that I’m the one waking up.

Choi. I feel like it might not work again but nahhhhhh God is winning.

What I feel like adding is “if you desire fellowship, God desires it more than you“.

So it’s not like the fellowship is the only communication window. But try and set aside a time of undisturbed fellowship with God, and tell him to help you keep to it. He will wake you up (or set situations to help you keep to that time. Remember, God desires fellowship with you than you do.

Come close to God, and God will come close to you. - James 4:8 Share on X

Let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23Let us hold resolutely to the hope we confess, for He who promised is faithful.… – Heb 10:22-23

Do you desire a more intimate walk with God? Ask him today to help you, set a time aside, set an alarm if need be, and make yourself answerable to a friend or mentor.

It works.

Grace and peace.
