A QUESTION YOU MUST ANSWER

Tanzania - Iringa - School children put up their hands
In their song SATISFIED, the Walls Group posed a very important question which must be answered by everyone who calls God their father, and who at least wishes to make heaven their eternal habitation.
If I never get that house, that car
Or be a superstar,
And my dreams never come true
Will I be satisfied with you?
And if no one ever knows my name
And my gifts don’t bring me fame
If everything I have, someday I lose
Will I be satisfied with you?
Hey, before you take this as one of those “anti-blessing” “anti-prosperity” preachings and turn off this page, let them explain what they mean.
Don’t get me wrong
It’d be nice to have nice things
And everybody loves the love that all those nice things bring
But when the lights turn out and it’s just me and you
When you ask me to choose, then what will I do
See, if I gain the world, then I lose my soul
Who sticks by my side when my years grow old?
So it’s not easy but when I think of you
I want to be satisfied with you

It’s so easy choosing money changes everything
But when all the money’s gone will I still be happy
How much did it cost me searching for celebrity?
Did it, Cost me my life?
Was it worth the price?
I’ve been searching for so long for something real
Something deeper than what I see and feel
Took me a while, now my search is through
Jesus, I’ll be satisfied with you.
So, here it is, you have faced with the question again.
If I never get that house, that car
Or be a superstar
And my dreams never come true
Will I be satisfied with you?
And if no one ever knows my name
And my gifts don’t bring me fame
If everything I have, someday I lose
Will I be satisfied with you?
Will you be satisfied with God if you never get that car, house, job…? What matters more, a convenient life here on earth, or eternity in heaven if it means being a complete nobody here on earth? The choice is yours to make. And your answer will be seen in what your pursuit is, what your joy is founded upon.
This reminded me of a song by Fernando Ortega…you can have all this world, but give me Jesus…Jesus is more than all the world, because, in Him, we have eternal life; an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading in heaven.

Choose wisely

Then Jesus told his disciples,“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? Matt 16:24-26
