God Rules In The Affairs of All Men – Say What? – Pastor Onayinka Olusegun

That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will. – Daniel 4:25 KJV

This means God does all we see among men, including the dehumanizing of Nebuchadnezzar.

This assertion and interpretation by Daniel are fraught with much misconceptions.

The Old Testament prophets often made such assertions.

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things. – Isaiah 45:7 KJV

They opined God made evil

Job also said this.

But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips. – Job 2:10 KJV

Also Amos.

Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it? – Amos 3:6 KJV

All these assertions are wrong.

How do we know?

They all prophesied the Supremacy of Christ over them.

[22] Having, therefore, obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:
[23] That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles. – Acts 26:22-23 KJV

He’s superior and will show light.

No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. – John 1:18 KJV

Christ explains God. He let us see God isn’t in everything, neither does He rule in all men’s affairs, and gives and takes human authority and power as He will.

Let’s see a few facts.

  • In the Wilderness, at the temptation
[5] …the devil, taking him up into a high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
[6] And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever, I will I give it. – Luke 4:5-6 KJV.
Not with God, but the devil.
  • Satan had and has a kingdom, demons and evil are its characteristics.
[25] And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: [26] And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? – Matthew 12:25-26 KJV
  • Power of darkness. Not God. This is a political authority. Like Nebuchadnezzar ’s.
[52] Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves? [53] When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour and the power of darkness. – Luke 22:52-53 KJV
  • This isn’t Jesus’ authority.
[36] Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. – John 18:36 KJV
  • He (The Father) neither set up nor destroyed Nebuchadnezzar.
Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. – 1 Corinthians 2:8 KJV
  • He’s a king/ruler of this world.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. – Ephesians 6:12 KJV
Not set up by Gods Spirit.
  • Two kingdoms, with each having unique and distinct features
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Ephesians 2:2 KJV
    Not God.
  • Daniel was not correct, He discerned Satan, not God.
This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men. – Daniel 4:17 KJV

Same as Nebuchadnezzar. Same as Isaiah, Amos. We see God in Christ. We put Daniel in proper perspective.

God isn’t tyrannical. He rules your heart when you receive the Gospel. Click To Tweet

[12] Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
[13] Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
[14] In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins. – Colossians 1:12-14 KJ

And so we pray and reach out to men like Nebuchadnezzar today.

1 Timothy 2:1-2 KJV
[1] I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
[2] For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

We do this for their salvation.

1 Timothy 2:4 KJV
[4] Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Then God will reign in their affairs.

Just like Paul spoke to “ Nebuchadnezzars “of his day

Acts 26:20,29 KJV
[20] But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
[29] And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.

This should be our course and call not imputing on God the control of all men’s Affairs, but rather appealing to all kings and rulers that they receive His kingdom.

Hope this is clear.

Let me know.
