Remarkable Healings in the Bible

The healings that took place in the bible, which are all remarkable by the way, show us two things;

  • They are written for us to build our faith and see how unlimited our God is in His ability. We see not just that God CAN heal, but that HE DOES heal. He wants to heal. God is a healer. The character and the compassion of God are clearly put on display in how Christ healed the sick. And the records in the bible are for our example, for our education.

  • The second thing to note is that God’s healing power is not exclusive to Jesus alone. The same power Jesus had to heal these people is resident within us and so we heal as well. Jesus instructed us to heal the sick and told us when we lay our hands on them, they would recover. We have God on our inside, and we also are capable of doing miracles by His power.

And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” – Mark 16:17-18

We would look at 2 of my favourites remarkable healings in the bible. A story of 2 different people, in similar situations, healed by 2 of my brothers😉. Let’s start with one of my favourites.

Remarkable Healings in the Bible

– The woman with the issue of blood.

We don’t even know her name, she was just tagged with the issue she had, but the better way to put it is “the woman healed from bleeding“.

If anybody had any and many reasons to have given up on healing, it should be her. She had a disease for 12 years and the bible even records that no one could heal her, but someone could and someone did! This woman was still willing to open her heart to receive healing even after 12 years of “heartbreak” and pain.

25 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, 26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. – Mark 5:25-26

We probably know or have heard of instances where people have been heartbroken and resolved in their hearts never to love again, it’s because of the hurt and regret for even trying, and imagine that every time you try its a repeated cycle of hurt and pain.

This story isn’t just about the healing from the disease, but about her faith. She already said to herself what she wanted that day, she was so confident in God’s ability that she knew she was going to be healed that day and she knew how! She didn’t let past experiences make her give up on every getting healed.

You can have faith in the compassion and the ability of God to heal you also.

– The Beggar at the gate.

My second favourite is also a familiar story. We’ve all probably encountered beggars before, and Peter encountered one too.

In the first story, we see someone that wanted healing and got it, here we see someone that wanted money and got something even better! Even though the first woman lived with an issue for 12 years, he had lived with this all his life.
He might not have asked for healing or expected one, and regardless of how long he had lived with lameness, healing was and is possible by the power of God.

We also see in this story is how one, Peter who denied Jesus “days” go, could be so bold and confident in God’s ability through Him, talk about the power of the Holy Ghost!

I love how Peter said “…what I have, I give to you.. – Act 3:6“, we have something! It’s a mindset to walk with, “it’s a supply mentality”

We have power in us, we carry something people need and we dispense.

We have power in us, we carry something people need. The Holy Spirit on our inside is the answer to people's needs. We have become the dispensers of God's power. Click To Tweet

My pastor always says we are suppliers, dispensers of God’s power and Peter demonstrates just that!
What a beautiful sight it would’ve been, for all to look in wonder and amazement and for God to be glorified.
