I am sure many people must have heard, especially from preachers, things like five is the number of grace, seven is the number for perfection and eight is the number for new beginnings e.t.c.
I know many Christians who believe in the spiritual significance of certain numbers, like once I was told that because we were in the month of May and it is the fifth month, we were in the season of God’s grace. The question now becomes, what happens when we get to June and I was unable to take advantage of ‘this season of grace’.
As Christians, we must realize that whatever beliefs we choose to uphold would have to be founded from proper bible teaching. So where do we get these number thing from, because to be honest I have heard a lot of stories and I am sure if you have been a Christian for a while you would have too.
I decided to read up on the number thing, then I got a shocker, just when I thought we only had one to ten, it turns out we have way more numbers than you think.

The problem with the list above is that there is no sound biblical basis for most of the numbers listed and their meanings. The major issue I feel many of the people who insist on attaching special significance and emphasis to numbers, that the bible doesn’t, is the desire to know and hear God by all means.
To be honest, the first thing I feel you have to settle in your mind about hearing God and knowing him is that he wants you to hear and to know him.
The first thing you have to settle in your mind about hearing God and knowing him is that He wants you to hear and to know him. Click To TweetGod is not playing games and hiding from you. He is not putting out puzzles and seeing if you are wise enough to decipher them. He is willing and eager to be known by you. He seeks a relationship with you more than you seek to know him. He seeks to lead you and talk to you more than you desire to be led by Him.

The second thing that is important to realize is that the only sure way to know God is through his word and by word I mean more specifically the testimony of the man Jesus Christ, because he is the word of God (John 1: 14-18).
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
(John testified concerning him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’”) Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.
So from the biblical reference, we must realize that, we know that God has chosen to be known through his son Jesus and not through numbers. So even if you get a vision and you are told in the vision that 1 million is the number of purity, you must bring this vision under the scrutiny of what the word of God says.
Please stop saying some specific number signifies this in the realm of the spirit and this one represents that, go and read your bible, get a church where Jesus Christ and his work are upheld. God bless you!!
Yooo. I don’t know about the remaining numbers but the number 5 for example, from the Bible is the number of grace. I, at a point didn’t get the reason for all that number stuff, until I did a proper study on the number 5. You should too. There are too many theological proofs of it.
However, I don’t think a Christian should live his life based on those. The grace of God for example, cannot only be available in May If not we’ll all the done for in the rest months.
Thanks for your comment @Iyebiye Olawuyi. But would you care to share some of these theological proofs of 5 being the number of grace, like some chapter or verse references, because I feel it is some how to invalidate the meanings attached to other numbers and insist on the meaning given to the number 5. Thanks in anticipation of your response.
We might disagree on this numbers thing, but then proper and objective bible teachings must guide our decisions and whatever notions we uphold
