When You are In The Midst Of A Battle, Raise A Hallelujah

The whole truth and beauty of some songs won’t dawn on you till you hear the story behind them, such is the case for the song ‘Raise A Hallelujah‘ by Bethel Music.

Joel & Jason Taylor’s son, Jackson was rushed to Intensive care unit and was fighting for his life. One night, Joel sent a text to Jonathan David Helser that the son might not make it through the night. Jonathan Helser recounted that on hearing the news, it felt like a giant of unbelief was standing right in front of him, and at that very moment, the song came to him.

I raise a hallelujah, in the presence of my enemies
I raise a hallelujah, louder than the unbelief
I raise a hallelujah, my weapon is a melody
Heaven comes to fight for me

When like Elijah, you can see that the host of Angels with you are more than the armies of your enemy, you will sing praises instead of raising fear and anxiety.

When like David, you know the God of Israel is bigger and stronger than any giant, you will raise a hallelujah. Click To Tweet

When like Jeoshaphat, God has told you to not be afraid or discouraged because of the vast army, and that the battle is not yours, but God’s you will send a praise parade to the battle front.

So when you are in the presence of an enemy, in the midst of a battle or something that looks like a defeat, raise a hallelujah, because, in Christ, you are more than a conqueror. Click To Tweet
