Happy New Year! As we celebrate the new year, long after the euphoria fades, here are 4 things to remember so as to get the best out of this year.
1. Be Christ-centered
John 3:16 connotes that what God did in Christ has an effect on our lives. This love that God has demonstrated through the death of Christ, bestowed on us a responsibility.
That love equally motivates us. (1Corinthians 5:14)
As a consequence, therefore, your relationship with people around you should be in Christ stead. You must continue with the same intensity as the son of God did. And this is for all believers.
We are simply to ask God for his plan for the new year and surrender to it. 2018 should be a God-first kind of year for you. As a church, Jesus is our biggest plan for the Year
2. MASTER THE ART OF JOY
Christianity is about delightful sacrifices. Matthew 13:44
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field”.
The only way you can be consistently happy is if your joy is hinged on Christ. Click To Tweet
Joy is a fruit of your spirit as a believer.
You must, therefore, choose to be thankful although the new year.
3. HANDLE YOUR PAST WITH GRACE
How your past and present interplay has an effect on your future.

4. SHOW AN ATHLETIC COMMITMENT TOWARDS THE GOSPEL
In your walk with God, go for gold.
In the preaching of the gospel, we must press for excellence.
Know that there is a prize, there is a crown.
1 Corinthians 9:24-25
Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.
