Hello from NYSC camp,
Right now, I have these guys not too far from my bunk, they have been talking about different girls for like an hour now, girls that are attracted to them and those they are attracted to, those they have spent their bicycle allowance and transport allowance on in mammy market’s drinking bars and palm wine joint. But the shady part of all this is that these ladies are living in a totally different world as the guys, they expect more than these guys plan to give. According to the guys, they have been asking relationship related questions but these guys just want the girls for their cookies. (You know what I mean right; sex).

But of all their discussion, I want to share the almighty “I HAD A DREAM OF US”. These fellow gentlemen corp members unknown to each other told their different “camp girlfriends” a supposed dream they had of them. For one of them, his dream goes thus; “I saw myself in your house and to my surprise, your mum welcomed me so warmly. There is the dream you (referring to the girl) stood looking at how I and your mum were relating so well like we know each other for long, then your mum said, “why are you just standing there, go and prepare something for your bobo (boyfriend)”. Yeah, that’s more or less the dream. Then he said he will give the girl 3 days break then fabricate another dream. If this whole fake dream thing was all in a bid to win the girls heart, to consider a relationship with him, it would have still been excusable as bad as that is, but it’s all in a bid to have a girl they can sleep with all through the service year or at least till they get tired or get a replacement. How sad if this girl is swayed by these dreams.
If all you hold on to a guy with is the dream he saw of you both…Lol…I’m sorry, you might just be building your shed in the lion’s den, the only thing I can spell is DANGER! But on a serious note, anyone can dream, I have being dreaming way before I could spell “dream”, and most dreams are merely mental fabrication based on what was fed the mind with. You dream of a girl after spying and stalking her all day and you take that as a divine sign that you are meant to be together, aww, but, I am sorry for you.

My simple advice is from the Bible, 1 Thess 5:21, “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good”, another version says, “Examine everything carefully…”, another, “Test everything… So before you go about drawing a conclusion based on just someone’s dream, check things out well, you definitely don’t want to fall prey like those girls are tending to.
