Gods own possession – Triumph30

 TOPIC: God’s Own Possession              

                                                                       TEXT: Eph 1:12-14

“That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.  13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.” KJV

Today’s text summarizes what the Salvation experience of a believer is about; he hears the word of truth (the gospel of Salvation), he then believes and is sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. Therefore to be saved is to be sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.

The Holy Spirit is Gods down payment/deposit on us. We have an assurance that Jesus is coming back for us because we have received his spirit in us as a guarantee.

“He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come” NIV – 2 Cor 1:21-22

He has set his seal of ownership on us.

“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” – 1 Cor 6:20

We are empowered to live a life of righteousness by his indwelling spirit

 “And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.  12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.” KJV – Rom 8:10-12

We grow in sanctification and by the spirit we nullify the deeds of the flesh. Our boast is in Christ Jesus we do not put confidence in our flesh, by the ability of his mighty power we glorify God in our body.

Glory to God he is coming for us we have a lively hope, an active hope because we have his spirit living in us who is our guarantee.

Glory to the resurrected king.

Live conscious that you are God’s own possession and He is coming back for you.

                                                        PRAYER FOCUS

1. Thank God right now for the gift of the Holy Spirit in your life.

2. “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,” KJV – Eph 3:20

           The power of the spirit is at work in us. Pray in other tongues.

3. “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” KJV – James 5:16

          We have the ability to cause changes. Intercede for the unsaved now that the gospel reaches them.
