This is my commitment: You can have it all, every part of my world– I know the last time I said that I didn’t completely mean it, by “not completely” meaning it, I meant it.
I really tried to give you all, to lay it all down, all- my work, my words, my thoughts, my decisions but my emotions, your emotions won’t just conform.
This got me wondering for a while, We probably know or at least we have been told that having a relationship with Jesus is same as committing to an earthly friendship, only that this person cares about you more than any other person than you know;
He provides for you like a father,
Loves you more than your mother, who went through pains to have you,
He knows what’s best for you better than your parents, who brought you here,
He looks out for you more than your squad and regardless of whom you are; he has fought more battles than your security.
An undisputed fact is that we are imperfect, though we have accepted it, I think we are yet to come to terms with it because if we did, We won’t struggle this much with being so open with God about our emotions and how we sincerely feel about things.
We are of the new covenant, we have his spirit within us, we should feel closer to him yet it feels like the people in the Old Testament were closer.
Wonder why?
It’s because they understood that they will never be perfect enough, so why form for God, instead they embraced their imperfections and turned it all to Him.
Reading through the book of Psalm, you can literally feel how the psalmist felt, he puts into perspective his emotions, though holding on the fact that God is God.
“There is no greater love, no higher name above”
“There is no greater call than giving you my all”
You might never feel righteous enough, good enough, holy enough, worthy enough, spiritual enough but in all your imperfections, you are just perfect enough for God.
Experience the joy that comes from surrendering yourself to someone who first surrendered everything for you and the peace knowing that in your broken state someone still loves you.
Jesus loves you
So let this be your commitment.
LYRICS
“Have It All”
Every part of my world
Take this life and breathe on
This heart that is now YoursOh the joy I’ve found
Surrendering my crowns
At the feet of the King
Who surrendered everything
Oh the peace that comes
When I’m broken and undone
By Your unfailing grace
I can lift my voice and say
You can have it all, Lord
Every part of my world
Take this life and breathe on
This heart that is now Yours
There is no greater call
Than giving You my all
I lay it all down
I lay it all down
There is no greater love
No higher name above
I lay it all down
I lay it all down
You can have it all, Lord
Every part of my world
Take this life and breathe on
This heart that is now Yours
