How I know Coronavirus (COVID- 19) is NOT from God

Having seen at least 5 different ministers of God say that the current pandemic ravaging the world is from God to teach us a lesson and drive us back to God, we see the need to address this topic and answer the question “Can This Corona Virus Be From God?”

We believe in revelation gifts, prophecy, dreams and visions, but like Paul instructs believers, we must judge every prophecy and messages by the word of God.

Every revelation must be weighed by the word of God. If It does not tally or is not in agreement with the word of God, I’m afraid it’s not from God.

2 Timothy 3:16- 17 also says ““All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

‭‭What this tells me is that as long as we let Gods word be our guide and help us discern what is and what isn’t of God, we can never get it wrong.

Having established this, we would be using scripture as proof as to why Corona is not from God. But before we do that lets establish one more thing…. God is consistent in his nature and character. Like Pastor Emmanuel Iren always puts it, “Like the sun, God does not shift positions”. Just like we always thought the sun rises in the east and sets in the west till we came to realize the sun does not move, but it’s actually our planet earth that moves round the sun and sometimes backs it to bring us night, God does not change. He is always good. James 1:17 even says there is no variableness or shadow of turning in God. What this means is that we are the ones who need to grow in our knowledge and revelation of him enough to know what is him, and what is not.

God is consistent in his nature and character. Like the sun, God does not shift positions. He does not change. He is only good and always good. James 1:17 even says in Him, there is no inconsistency or shifting shadow. Click To Tweet

Here are reasons Corona Virus is not from God;

1. God is love

So my First point on why Corona is definitely not from God, 1 John 4:8 – Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

This scripture tells me that God is love, and then 1 Corinthians 13:4 goes on to spell out exactly what love is. It says “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs”. I would like you to please underline “keeps no record of wrongs”. Which flows other portions of the bible like Heb 8:12 – “For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.”

How can a God who is holding no wrongs against me be dealing with me based on things I have done/are doing? Things that he has chosen not to remember and is not even holding against me? As if that is not enough? He now chose to deal with me with a sickness/plague/virus?

Jesus’ life on earth from scriptures, is proof that this God does not inflict with sickness, it is inconsistent with his nature. I mean, Jesus went about healing all that were sick and oppressed of the devil. Click To Tweet

Well, on the contrary, Jesus’ life on earth from scriptures, is proof to me that this is quite inconsistent with the nature of God’. I mean, Jesus went about healing all that were sick and oppressed of the devil. Acts 10:38 says “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went about doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. This verse says something very striking. “Healing all who were under the power of the devil”. We can clearly see from here that sickness is of the Devil and not of God.

Jesus healing all who were under the power of the devil according to Act 10:38 clearly shows us that sickness is of the Devil and not of God. Click To Tweet

Just in case you were wondering how the fact that Jesus healed the sick proves that that it is God’s will for us to be healed, John 10:30 goes on to tell us that Jesus and God are one, and John 1:18 and Heb 1:3 further explains that Jesus is God revealed to us. If Jesus is God revealed to us, then we can boldly say that declaring that God is responsible for Corona is sheer blasphemy. That’s definitely not the nature of God as seen in Christ, and cannot suddenly become the nature of God now.

2. What then did Jesus die for our sins?

My second point is simply a question. “What did Jesus now come to do for us if sin is still a trigger for God to rain down fire and brimstone on the world at large, talk-less of his very own Children.

The Bible tells me that Jesus became sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in him (2 Cor 5:21). It says in 1 John 2:2 that Jesus is propitiation for our sins (atoning sacrifice – the means by which our sins are forgiven). Which means that in Jesus, our sins are forgiven, and God does not hold sin against us”. Ephesians 1:7 says “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.”

Jesus bore our sin and the sin of the entire world. When He died on the cross, he died for both the just and the unjust. He wiped out the handwriting of requirements, or the letter of accusation, or the condemnation that came from breaking the law.

“The wages of sin is death,” – Romans 6:23 that was used by Satan to accuse people before God, but that became no longer relevant because Jesus had crushed the power of the devil by overcoming all the sin that had entered in through the Fall. The debt of sin had been paid. By this work we also received forgiveness for all the sin we had committed and will ever commit.

These spell out in bold letters the fact that God is not angry with us, and can never be.

Below are some quotes that further reiterate this.

“One of the most staggering truths of the Scriptures is to understand that we do not earn our way to heaven. … works have a place–but as a demonstration of having received God’s forgiveness, not as a badge of merit of having earned it.” Ravi Zacharias

“I believe that as often as I transgress, God is more ready to forgive me than I am ready to offend.” Charles Spurgeon

“No child of God sins to that degree as to make himself incapable of forgiveness.” John Bunyan

“A great many people want to bring their faith, their works, their good deeds to Him for salvation. Bring your sins, and He will bear them away into the wilderness of forgetfulness, and you will never see them again.”- Dwight L. Moody

“You have been forgiven, so act like it!” A.W. Tozer

“There are some facts that will never change. One fact is that you are forgiven. If you are in Christ, when he sees you, your sins are covered-he doesn’t see them. He sees you better than you see yourself.” Max Lucado

3. God won’t be judging anybody until the second coming of Christ.

Finally, on why Corona is definitely not from God and can never be God raining Judgment on us because we have seemingly overlooked him and not worshipped him as God… Well, the word of God is very clear on the fact that God won’t be judging anybody until the second coming of Christ.

Matthew 25:31-33 “But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. “All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left”.

1 Corinthians 4:5 “Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men’s hearts; and then each man’s praise will come to him from God”

Acts 17:31 “because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead.”

Romans 2:16 “on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus”.

2 Corinthians 5:10” For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad”.

All these scriptures are very clear, and are more than enough proof, that there is a set time for God to judge the world. And that set time is when Jesus comes a second time, not now.

My dear brother and sister, be aware more than ever before that we live in a world that is in a fallen state. Hence, bad things are almost inevitable. And God is definitely not responsible. In fact, man is responsible for most things, and the things man is not responsible for, the devil is. But be of good cheer, if you are born of God, you have overcome the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

We live in a world that is in a fallen state. Hence, bad things are almost inevitable. And God is definitely not responsible. In fact, man is responsible for most things, and the things man is not responsible for, the devil is. Click To Tweet

So now even in this season of Corona, let’s hold fast our faith in God, and put our trust in the one who loves us. If God will be involved in our world, we must pray. He has given us a free will; the choice to either bring him into situations or not. Now isn’t the time to stop praying and trusting God. As a matter of fact, for as long as we live in this fractured world, there will be trials and tribulation. But I believe that as long as we continually look to our Father in heaven, his strength will forever be made perfect in our weakness. And like he said in his word, he will always be with us.

If God will be involved in our world, we must pray. He has given us a free will; the choice to either bring him into situations or not. Now isn’t the time to stop praying and trusting God. Click To Tweet

I hope this brought some answers. Kindly leave any comments or questions you might have.
