The greatest discovery of my generation is that man can alter his life simply by altering his attitude of mind.” – James Adams

I welcome you to another episode of ignite series. Year 2015 will expire in less than 8 days, am sure you will agree with me that God has been faithful. Even if you have not experienced any increase this year, the fact that you are alive to re-strategize for 2016 is a big testimony. So you have every reason to be grateful.
Today I will be sharing something I have captioned “Pre-Determination and Post-Attitude“.

Your determination when you have nothing and your attitude when you have everything are what determine the quality of your life.

Let me pick each statement separately:

a.) Your determination when you have nothing.

Every successful person you see right now started with an inertia of emptiness. No baby was born in the hospital with a suit. The nakedness of babies shows that man is solely responsible for his/her advancement in life. The issue is not that you are have nothing, the issue is that you are not making any plans to leave the realm of void. Every man’s future is birthed on will power and determination to succeed. Do you think you can succeed? Do you think your greatness is sure? Do you think you can leave that poor zone? Your answers to these questions is the gateway to your realm of limitless possibilities.
Let me share a story with you. There was a guy who was oppressed by his brothers, everyone around him seems to be jealous of him. He was sold as a slave and was even kept in a prison for a crime he didn’t commit but he refused to give up. He was determined to succeed and he ended up been a solution provider as well as a prime minister.
Never give up on your dreams, look through the eye of God and see your glorious end. Even as 2016 is approaching, it’s not too early to start picturing how you want to end 2016.

b.) Your attitude when you have everything.

There is an adage that says” Poor people are humble while rich people are proud”. As far as am concerned this adage is only a myth and not true. The only thing is that when people accomplish their goals or basically become wealthy, they tend to be proud and arrogant.
Attitude is what makes a man. Competence might take you to a great height but only character can sustain you at that peak level.
It’s so funny to see how some people forget their old friends when they accomplish one or two things.
Your humility shouldn’t be measured by your level of accomplishment or wealth. It should be a virtue that must remain intact. No wonder Winston Churchill said” Attitude is the little thing that makes a big difference”. There is something I learnt from one of my mentors, Fela Durotoye. He said, “Stay deaf to the accolade of men”. Never get to a point in which you feel you have arrived. Remain humble and God will keep elevating you.
Don’t forget that your determination when you have nothing and your attitude when you have everything is what determines how high you fly. Have a courageous week. See you next week.
