7 Tips To Maximize 24 Hours

You wake up at 5 AM and before you know it’s mid-day. Before you know what’s popping the day is completely over, then guilt comes to do its victory dance in your mind showing you all the things you should have done you did not do.

To be productive you don’t have to work round the clock, you just need to work smarter.

Here are a few tips that will help you maximize 24 hours.

1. Sleep well

Rest as much as you can, especially at night. Your body needs time alone to recuperate. Proper rest has so many benefits, and one of them is increased efficiency and performance of your mind and body.

This results in ensuring you perform better across the course of the day, either at work, school…And yes, you are also happier.

Turn off your phone or leave it in another room, keep every other form of distractions away and sleep. Because your body needs it.

2. Exercise

Exercises are good for your energy level. Yes, exercises are not meant only for people trying to lose weight. Memory concentration, happiness, and mental alertness are benefits associated with regular physical activity.

And I hope you are not thinking of carrying dumbbells and running the treadmill, these are great by the way, but it doesn’t have to be any of those. It could be simple stretches, jumps and push-ups.

There are many phone apps that are really helpful here, you can pick a suitable workout plan and keep track of your time and progress.

To have maximized your day, hit the gym, do yoga, sign up for a dance class or play a sport, just make sure you alternate your activities so you don’t get bored.

3. Don’t try to do too much

Many times we want to do everything at the same time, you are not a spirit who can be present at the same time everywhere. Outline the most important things you need to do, then work start with those first.

Keep your goals very SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Time-bound).

When creating your to-do, it’s better to under-project, achieve that, then set a new task and target, than put too much and burn out.

4. Eat right

Just as sleep is important, your diet also contributes to how successful your 24 hours would go. As much as possible, eat breakfast and take water all through the day. Science has proven that losing as little as 2% of your body’s water content can significantly impair physical performance.

It’s important to watch what works for you. Example some people would take coffee and be alert while some will take coffee and be completely restless so pay attention to how your body responds to different meals.

I will also like to advise, be cautious about where you eat to get your sugar or energy. A lot of people look to sodas and juice for energy, but these sources rightly give a quick energy boost, but they spike and falls quickly, leaving you drained faster.

Go for fruits and food instead.

5. Actively cultivate and maintain a conducive/productive atmosphere

Your working environment increases or reduces your productivity. Your environments include the people, things or places. A productive working environment is essential for a successful 24 hours.

Avoid quarrelling or unnecessary hostile argument with co-workers. Keep a neat/decluttered working space. Clear your table and work surrounding, brighten the lighting. Those are a few tips you can use to enhance your productive atmosphere.

6. Keep forward (don’t look at lost time or opportunities)

To maximize your day you need to move from lost time or opportunity, they say ‘there is no need to cry over spilt milk’. Let what has passed pass don’t waste time on things you can’t change.

If you miss out on a scheduled task or deadline, don’t fuss over it, simply move on to the next one.

7. Don’t burn out

Everybody has their elasticity point, recognize yours, and know what you need to do to refresh it.

When your concentration is low, when you feel like your brain is shutting down, rest, take a nap, take a walk, do something totally unrelated to your work.

If you are hungry, take a break to and refill before you continue working. You will be better got it.

The refreshed energy will help you achieve more, and the time spent getting your grooves back will turn out to worth more than you would have to push yourself.

If you need to call it a day it also okay. I am just saying to maximise your day know when you have have had enough and do what you need to do.
