Courage and Confidence: The Journey to Significance 12

Hello, Great people!
Today, we’ll be exploring the subject of courage and confidence as it relates to our journey to significance.
Confidence can be defined as a feeling of assurance or a state of being certain.
Courage is defined as the ability to do something that you know is right or good even though it involves taking a risk.
As much as these two attributes relate to our being significant, they have their uniqueness that makes them a little different from what we may have thought.
Confidence operates in the realm of safety. With confidence, you can take steps when you only have a conviction that things will turn out to be good.
Have you ever felt that lack of confidence was holding you back from living to your full potential and hindering you from taking steps that will lead you to significance? Courage is what makes you overcome this feeling of low confidence.

While building confidence through the practice of trust, belief, faith, and focus is a really good idea, it needs the courage to take the first step.
On this journey of life, there are many instances with probabilities, where we are faced with uncertainties about outcomes. In these situations, you most likely are not going to become very confident and the lack of courage can keep you from even participating.
The act of courage is being willing to step into the unknown. It means whether you are afraid or not, you take actions that is right and good irrespective of protecting your personality or self-image.
Fear is the emotion that tells you to stop, while courage is the emotion that tells you that you must keep moving even if you’re afraid.
Despite the differences between courage and confidence, there is an important relationship between the two which is doing e things you fear.
Don’t be afraid of your own greatness, don’t be afraid of reaching significance. There are so many people who have had the courage to press on towards their dreams even when they didn’t feel confident. Take action, Do something! There is power in doing. Taking action is one of the most effective ways to conquer fear and self-doubt.
The same society that puts limitations on people by discouraging and criticizing is the same environment that honours them when they’ve lived a legacy.
Those with the confidence and courage to focus and follow through on their dreams are people the world like to reckon with. At some points, they would have suffered from self-doubt or lack of confidence and had developed the courage to move on.
Don’t expect to be confident at all times, when confidence is absent, courage takes over.
In the great book, courage is a command. The bible says in Joshua 1:8 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord God is with you wherever you go”
Our new command lists are;
1. Be strong
2. Be of good courage
3. And thou shalt not be afraid.

Entertaining fear isn’t Godly. It shows that you do not trust in your creator who gave you life.
In the words of Stephen Covey, “Courage is not the absence of fear but the awareness that something else is more important.”
So what is more important?
Believing in God in reaching greatness and significance.
When you have an awareness of something more important than what you fear, you will have the courage to go forward. And when you have courage, you get confidence. Courage is simply confidence at ease.
So, friends, there is really nothing to fear. When life throws you lemons, make lemonade and when it shows you pepper, make a delicious pepper soup.
Have a blessed week.

Kind Regards,
