I DARE YOU

Wow
I dare you to complain one more time. The last time I checked, you have both hands, you even playfully write with your other hand. You even dare to stab class and threatened to drop out of school because your popsy wouldn’t upgrade your allowance.
Next time you are about to complain about what you want or couldn’t get, remember this picture- At least you have something someone else doesn’t.

It isn’t what you have or who you are or where you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it – Dale Carnegie

NOTE: To the bullies out there; you make a jest of a person over what they have no control over, I hope you’re fulfilled and proud of yourself…

I heard you refused to eat and smile till your dad finally bought you that car. The boy above will probably never own a car of his own but he is laughing like there are no worries in the world, like he’s got all he’ll ever need.
I dare you to base your happiness on what does not depreciate with time, whose worth can’t be quantified by any earthly value system. Such include- God, family and friends.

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life – John Lennon

At least you had a roof over your head yesterday night. We totally have no influence over who our parents are or where we will be born. If the man in the picture was given the chance to choose, taking your place will be more than a dream come true for him.
Next time you pass by someone who lacks what you have, don’t just go “thank God I’m not the one in that position“. That sounds like gratitude, but it’s not. Better still, put some money in their hand, give them a warm embrace, tell a joke, say a word of prayer or a word of encouragement. Help them in the tiniest way you can.

We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have – Frederick Keonig

The quote “Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder” is in no way limited to the beauty of a woman. How you perceive life decides how you judge it, beautiful or ugly. And your perception determines your experience.
What in/about life matters to you? People smiling on the street? The cry of a newborn or the number of digits in your pay cheque? What more can you describe as beauty than the sight of that boy making music for the birds? I’ll probably choose that over FIFA 15 #justsaying

Life is full of beauty. If you are not seeing it, you are probably looking in the wrong direction or through a defective glasses – Oludapo Toluope

Nuer Boys Reading
You hate your parents for forcing you to attend Covenant University against taking up the admission you got in the UK. You said you’ll fail intentionally to pay them back…Looool…you dummy! Who do you think will lose? It’s your life. Your parents or whoever limited your choices to choose still have their lives to live as much as you have yours.
You have the choice of sulking for the rest of your life. The choice to sit, fold your arms and complain about how everyone including life is unfair to you. You could also decide to pick up the pieces of your life and make a beauty to be envied out of it.
The remains of your last mess can make up a good raw material to build a new masterpiece. – Oludapo Tolu
Even if everything is deprived of you, as long as you don’t give up your will to live, you have all that you’ll need.

He who is not contented with what he has, would not be contented with what he would like to have – Socrates

CLOSING WORDS:

I know no one is perfect and no one has got is all, you probably lack one of the things portrayed in this post. But never forget that there is at least one thing you have that is someone’s utmost prayer. Be grateful for what you have, be grateful for where you are. Make the best use of what you have and where you are now while hoping to improve one day.
