Is There Really A Someone For Everyone – The Harsh Truth

For the singles or maybe even married people, you may have heard people say this a lot, especially in the church. We’re about to find out how true this is. Is There Really A Someone For Everyone?

A few points for us to ponder on:

1. If everyone had their own someone, what happens to the someone of those that died? Do they pick another ‘someone’? If they do that, wouldn’t they be taking someone else’ someone?

Lol… Okay, don’t get confused. I’m simply trying to say that statistics aren’t entirely even so this ‘someone for everyone’ theory is flawed.

Also, we have seen people who had a great marriage and then one of the spouse dies and the other re-marries and still has a great marriage. This goes to show that it is not about one particular person.

2. It is often times a character set or trait that you saw in someone that made you attracted to him/her and it is not impossible that there are more than one person that can be that.

Honestly, love isn’t all about the face, it is often times about the person behind the face with a particular character trait. Truly, this can be found in more than one person.

The set of characters and traits that attracted you to ‘the one’ can’t be exclusive to him or her alone, it can be found in other persons, thereby faulting the ‘one person for someone’ theory. Click To Tweet

3. It doesn’t have any biblical basis

As churchy as it sounds, it doesn’t have any biblical basis. I mean, never in the bible is it said that there is someone for everyone. We only see guidelines on choosing a spouse from the scripture and we know we have the Holy Spirit to guide us.

But on the matter of it being one person or no one at all, it has no biblical basis.

How then does this work?

Marriage is not just about love and butterflies in the belly. Marriage is about love, compatibility on different levels and ultimately choice.

Furthermore, as a child of God, you are led of the Spirit of God. Also, there are boundaries God has set for us – some basic principles, character traits that should guide our choosing.

But for choosing, I personally don’t believe there is only one person that can be the perfect person. I like to see it like a container. Great content can come in different containers and it really even so much about the container as it is about the content.
