Purpose vs Comfort

From experience, comfort seems to be one of the greatest enemies of success. They say do what comes naturally to you, but no one tells you that no edifice is built sitting on your bed with a bowl of cereal in one hand and a complete series of your favourite sitcom in the other.

The path to success is one laid with many sleepless nights, hungry days, and sacrifices upon sacrifices.

Besides, that something isn’t easy doesn’t mean you aren’t meant to do it.

By God’s grace, I have a successful blog- but it didn’t come from a comfortable place. It came from times of bad grammar with no editor, to blogging on a Blackberry Phone with bad touch pad and bad keyboard. Publishing an article that is supposed to take 20 minutes would take me nothing less than two hours. Imagine if I had stopped. Imagine if I began to think that “discomfort” was an indication that I wasn’t supposed to be blogging. Would there be lifegiva.com today?

If you go by comfort, you won’t do your laundry, you won’t clean your room- but these are things that must be done. If you go by comfort, you won’t get a degree, because the period of education is practically an uncomfortable period.

Relating to the Christian Faith, Andy Mineo in his song titled “Uncomfortable”, said “So if you wanna live a comfortable life, make sure you never love nobody, be selfish and never sacrifice

This is so true because we have been called to an uncomfortable life. Otherwise, how would you explain the Bible verse that says, “He died for all so that those who live should henceforth not live to themselves but to him who died and gave himself for them? Remember the Good Samaritan? He didn’t do what was comfortable, but he was crowned the champion of that parable.

NEVER FORGET THAT COMFORT IS ONE OF THE GREATEST ENEMIES OF SUCCESS.

YOU HAVE TO GET YOUR HANDS DIRTY, AND REMAIN PERSISTENT IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY- THAT IS HOW LASTING EDIFICE AND CORPORATIONS ARE BUILT.

It’s very okay to be uncomfortable. Please, choose Purpose over Comfort. Grace and peace.
