The FaceApp Trend : As We Grow Old

The new Faceapp trend involves making people grow/look old using  Neural network technology, it was created by a Russian company called Wireless lab. The app is available IOS and Google Play store platforms it is used to make transformations and different alterations to people’s faces in photographs.

Recently many have explored the FaceApp option that makes them look older. Posting the results on social media and just like the 10-year challenge people are hopping on the trend.

But I actually wonder why people want to see the older versions of themselves though, I thought the goal was to be forever young 😂.

However, I have a few thoughts on the FaceApp trend making people grow old:

– Take no thought.

The crux of Jesus’ sermon in Matthew 6:31-34 can be summarised as “Do Not Worry”.

Therefore don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. – Matt 6:34

The summary of these texts is that we should not worry about the future, but rather we should concern ourselves with doing the most for the advancement of God’s kingdom.

This is important because there is a tendency to look at the old version of yourself and begin to worry about tomorrow. But you must never forget that you have a father in heaven and he got you. So whether young or old you are still secure in your dad’s hand.

– Do not boast

James 4:13-16 Based on the texts, it is a biblically founded fact that no one knows tomorrow. So in speaking about the future, we must speak like we understand that our lives here are temporary. No one likes to talk about death, but it is an unavoidable evil.

Really none of us is leaving here alive, except you are present at the second coming of Christ. So as you post pictures of your old self, try not to boast about a future you are not certain of.

Rather boast about the things you are sure of. Things like the assurance that whether in death or in life I am the Lord’s and he is mine.

That is the only thing believers are really assured of, because honestly for most of us are really not doing the things we said we will be doing five years back. For many of us, God stepped in and interrupted our grand plans and some could not even live to see the things they spoke about come to fruition.

So as we grow old with FaceApp Trend, remember not to be terrified about your looks and remember to make your boast on an assured future with Christ.

I guess I should give the app a shot, I am sure my old self would crack me up. 😂

PS: Take note of the privacy policy attached to using the app

Cheers!!
