Praise-el Osayi-ekekho on 'Never Fails' and her Music Inspiration

Worship is more than music, it’s my entire attitude towards life which is influenced by the knowledge of God’s supremacy, love and power over all things.

I get inspiration to write music  while doing ordinary activities. For example, the first song I wrote that was ministered by the covenant university choir in 2012 came to me while I was walking to my room from the university chapel on a random night. They come at seemingly random moments which I believe is owed to a life of worship.

I won’t say I’ve been flawless in this life style but I try as much as I can to give God my everyday living and this gives me inspiration to write.

I have written over thirty songs. Although most of the songs have blessed my personal worship experience, others like ‘Never fails‘ have been worked on professionally to minister to other people. This song unlike the others, came during one of the monthly fasts organised by Dr Ada Peter’s, who was then the chaplain at covenant university. She prayed for me and said ‘may your burning be translated to shinning’. After the prayer, I went to the back of chapel to pray further using the same words she spoke over me and the song practically fell on me. The chorus and the verse. I got the bridge after a shower about two weeks later whilst rushing for choir rehearsal.

I know most people expect to hear some epic story about my music inspiration. I must confess though, that it is completely God, giving it to me in the midst of my random day. All glory to God forever.
