Last year and into this year, I have experienced very trying moments in every area of my life; in my family, relationship, health, purpose and my walk and work with God. I’ve had to face things that kept me wondering what I was living for. At other times, I kept asking myself if I had made choices that were wrong or if I would ever get up from the fall of my several mistakes.
I know I’m not alone, we all have our episodes of turmoil. It’s also not a matter of comparison as to whether or not my challenges were bigger than yours or yours bigger than mine. Every single challenge we go through in life can be a tool and means for shaping us towards positivity or negativity. It’s like they are tailor-made for who you are so it doesn’t help to sit in the mud of your past mistakes or failures. What helps though, is knowing that someone else, somewhere in the world has gone through what you’re going through in some variations and they have conquered.
The message from this is this:
Get up, cry to God if you have to, get a word, please don’t stop striving, don’t stop trusting God because you’ll overcome….. Sooner than you think.
The song “We All Need Saving” by Jonathan McLaughlin is an expression of all that I’ve written above.
We All Need Saving Lyrics
Come on, come on
You have got to move on
This is not the you I know
This isn’t real
It’s just all you can feel
And that’s the way that feelings go
And whether or not it’s right or wrong you’ll do what you will do
[Chorus]
When the cloud in the sky starts to pour
And your life is just a storm you’re braving
Don’t tell yourself you can’t lean on someone else
Cause we all need saving sometimes
Say what you will but the time that we fill
While we’re on the earth
Should not be alone
We were meant to be known
You make me what I’m worth
But i can’t keep you from yourself you’ll do what you will do
[Chorus]
I don’t know why it has to be this way and
I don’t know the cure
But please believe someone has felt this before.
Matthew 11:28 – Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Remember to share.
Grace and Peace.
