Poem – Down On My Knees

Down on my knees, I know my family wants the best for me but sometimes it’s hard to tell what they want from thee

Willing to be my best just to maintain sanity, appreciative of the fact I have people who still love and care for me

I’m only human, indeed trying to do right, avoiding things that my parents tell would cause harm, maybe they foresee

The pressure is becoming increasingly unbearable, could it be the lack of independence or wisdom which is key

In deep dilemma, but relying on grace and mercy has been most comforting, just reading the word sets my mind free

Not sure of my motive for writing this but reading through gives me more reasons to pray, praising God while on my knee
