Promises – Maverick City

There has been this gloomy feeling hovering in my heart for about three days now; nothing sinister happened but I can feel the gloom. Knowing that my heart needs to be protected at all times, I speak over myself and pray.  I feel okay for a bit and then I can sense it again; well I try to distract myself with social media but this is a wrong call because the bad news all over social media gives me more reason to be sad. While hopelessness tries to ravage the remaining part of my mind, I am reminded:  ‘Great is God’s faithfulness to me’ 

God is bigger than my heart and how I feel, so: 

‘Though the storms may come and the winds may blow

I’ll remain steadfast

And let my heart learn, when You speak a word

It will come to pass’

Even today, regardless of my racing heart, I choose to sing: 

‘God from age to age

Though the earth may pass away

Your word remains the same, yea-eah

You’re history can prove

There’s nothing You can’t do

You’re faithful and true’

Daily, I resolve to see you, Jesus because you are the answer to the cry of the world. From my insides, I scream: 

‘I put my faith in Jesus

My anchor to the ground

My hope and firm foundation

He’ll never let me down

He’ll never let me down’

So today, above my feelings, beyond this dying world, much more than the chaos my physical eyes behold,  

”I still bless you!’

Truly, great is your faithfulness to me.
