PURE DELIGHT
Matthew 13:44-46
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.”
Jesus describes a picture of kingdom of God likened unto a man who was searching for a treasure and when he found that treasure he hid it and went with joy to sell all he had. The only reason he could sell all he had was because that treasure is worth more than all he had.
A man who has found Jesus is a man who has found a treasure that surpasses in value any other thing that he has and will ever have. He has found treasure in Christ himself.
“And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” – John 6:35
Your satisfaction should be derived in the person of Jesus, your communion with him is your delight.
David spoke about fellowship with God and there is one key word he used to describe it and that’s the word “satisfaction”
“How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings. 8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.” – Psalm 37:7-8
He reckoned fellowship with God so as satisfying that he compares it with natural food and drink.
You might have been troubled before, anxious and when you pray all of a sudden you know everything will be alright, you are just satisfied. In Christ you are not trying to escape hell you are satisfied in Him.
“In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” – John 7:37-38
That’s a figure of speech to let you know, there is a river flowing from within, that’s the satisfaction we have in Christ. Glory to God
Finally col 3:1-2
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. – col 3:1-2
Place your affections on God where you find full satisfaction.
DO THIS
Make a declaration that from today you would place your affection on him. No matter what you face choose to delight in him because in him you find total satisfaction.
