“Those who seek a better life must first become a better person” – Jim Rohn
Hello friends, I welcome you to another session of IGNITE SERIES. We would be continuing the series “Quest for a better life” we started last week; READ HERE. In the first part we were able to see that to have a better life, you have to accept yourself, overcome setbacks, seek help when you need help and also help others in their quest for life. So let’s continue on our journey on the quest for a better life.
5. Cultivate friendship
Baltasar Gracian once said that “True friendship multiplies the good in life and divide its evils. Strive to have friends, for life without friends is like life on a desert island”…to find one real friend in a lifetime is good fortune; to keep him is a blessing. Friendship takes dedication. Millions of marriages have fallen apart because they were not nurtured; a similar fate can befall friends. To cultivate friendship, you must grow, accommodate, forgive, and move on, always with an appreciation for this relationship’s unique nature.
In the quest for a better life, genuine friendship is a major element. Friends are those people who will risk their comfort, safety, convenience, and feelings to help us, comfort us and do their best to ensure we receive the best life has to offer.
I often describe good friends as the kind of security that will follow us to the end of our days. When setback comes, good friends would be there and when advancement comes, good friends will also celebrate with you genuinely.
6. Discover your passion
At the end, what matter is fulfilment!!! The greatest mystery that can befall a man is to do effectively well what he should not have done at all.
I personally draw energy from speaking, writing and teaching. I also love to encourage people to do their best in all they do. You have to pursue your passion in order to live a better life. It’s only what you genuinely have passion for that brings lasting joy. if you understand God’s command for laying up treasures in heaven, you feel the urgency in converting your passions, talents for God’s use. Place primary priority on what you have passion for, because these are things you do effectively with ease. Look at the people who have done astonishing things, you will discover that their area of dominance is a passionate domain for them.

6. Seek Uplifting people
Seeking uplifting people is worth the time and effort it takes. Most definitely they make mistakes and they have their own weaknesses. But ignore their weakness and you will see something special that will help you become a better person. I can’t account for the impact of mentors in my life thus far. I have mentors in every area of my life and they have helped me become who I am and they are still helping me become better.
I beseech you never to consider anyone you meet insignificant, because all encounters have the potential for positive future results. Lifelong encounters with uplifting people have shown me that greatness is contagious and that expectations and greatness go hand in hand. Uplifting people push us to do more, achieve more and reach our maximum potential.
Pride is one thing that is killing most youth of this generation. Humble yourself and be a better person.
