Christian creatives are believers who use their gifts, talents or skills for kingdom advancement, that is, the preaching of the gospel. They may be musical artists, song writers, poets, rappers, filmmakers, writers, bloggers and any other person you think falls under this category. So why should we support Christian creatives?
First of all, as believers, we must be interested in any medium by which we can influence culture. Secondly, the devil is very active in propagating his agenda, so we can’t be caught sleeping.
Thirdly, any agenda/movement that you’ve seen thrive or spread, was sponsored intentionally by its loyalists. Hence, christian creatives need our support and encouragement because their “agenda” is a worthy cause.
So here’s the plan: we will push harder to make God known in every possible way. One of the ways to do that is by supporting Christian creatives.
Beyond different Christian pages on different social media platforms, there are other forms by which christian creatives express themselves and their message.
There are filmmakers who tell clean and edifying stories, musicians who create jams we can party to, writers that share their life-giving messages through blogs and many others. They all need to be supported and encouraged.
On that note, here are 4 ways to support Christian creatives:

Money is necessary for sustaining creative endeavours. In fact, it goes a long way in helping creatives to do their work in the best manner possible. It seems like the struggle for funding is usually more when it comes to getting “christian” productions and the reason is not far-fetched – we live in a secular world.
Some Christians aren’t even willing to pay for events or concerts when it’s gospel related, but they will pay through their nose to attend secular events. This shouldn’t be. Gone are the days when anything christian is associated with “low quality” or unentertaining.
We must have a competition mindset to thrive; We see the world funding their agenda, so we do better at ours. Giving is a way of sponsoring and encouraging them to keep at it. In giving or paying for what they offer, we empower the Christian creative to do better and reach more people with good works that call attention to the kingdom.
2. Publicise their work
We are in a competition for souls! So number numbers matter! It’s one thing to have what people need to hear, it’s another thing to get them to pay attention to it.
If you’ve been blessed by a Christian creative, let other people be blessed by them too. More views of their work equals more followers which translates to more influence and impact. Engaging the posts of Christian creatives on social media will go a long way with publicity.
If you appreciate their gift, let them know you appreciate it. Help them get the deserved and desired attention, not for their own sake but for the sake of the gospel. Jesus will trend over pop culture, but this won’t happen without your involvement.
3. Pray for them
Sometimes we look up to these Christian creatives and think they don’t face challenges, or they don’t need to be encouraged. Not true. Please remember that they’re human beings too. They need your prayers to stay true to their craft regardless of the challenges in their way.
Remember also that we’re competing for the hearts of men. So pray for the prospering of work they do.
4. Volunteer
Many times, it’s not hard to spot volunteering opportunities with Christian creatives because they will ask for it if need be. If musicians, help them out by showing up for their concerts. If bloggers, contribute articles to their platform from time to time (if you can). Just be on the lookout for these opportunities. As much as you can, volunteer your time, knowledge or skill when such a need arises.
These are but a few ways to support Christian creatives. What other ways can we support Christian creatives? Please share in the comment section.
