For a long while now, I’ve struggled with the kind of messages that filled the media, Christian channels that used to be my favorite have posed risky to my spiritual walk with God, as preachers today are motivated by a lot of things that isn’t the Holy Spirit or the truth of God’s word.
Truth is scarce this days, yes, they all preach from the bible, but choose to say just things that satisfy their personal intentions. Whether that is intentional or innocent ignorance, that’s not my place to decide.
A friend sent me this video, and I feel strongly led to share it. Note that, it has nothing to do with the preacher, but everything to do with what he said in this video.
After watching, I want you to ask yourself this question; WHAT IS THE ESSENCE OF CHRISTIANITY?
What should be the sole pursuit of a Christian? What should be the motivation behind all we do every moment of our life; how we live our lives?
I will be glad if you can answer that question, share your thought as a comment below, but after you watch the 3+ minutes video first.
So, WHAT IS THE ESSENCE OF CHRISTIANITY?
Kindly remember to share. I’m looking forward to your contribution.
Thanks,
Tolu.
OMG!!!!, a truth that is barely spoken
An unbeliever shouldn’t feel at home in your presence because of the frequency at which you’ll mention Christ. Thanks Tolu
Dont agree unbelievers shouldn’t feel at home in your presence. On the contrary, they should run to you to find safety and help, afterall, you are the light of the world and salt of the earth. Without you, the unbeliever is in utter darkness. The message of the pastor didn’t elucidate on what the believer ought to be doing to make him conform to Christ, rather, he adopted a judgemental position of “tight female outfits” as though wearing a “pharisee-outfit” is righteousness. His message is largely subliminal, connotes female-subservience and lacks action plans that promote true spirituality or the spirit of Christ. His job as a pastor is to equip the saints. My goal is not to make heaven, Christ has earned that for me already by his undeserved love for me. My goal is to honour Him with the new life He has given me and as much as I allow Him, only Him can reveal the blue-prints of how I can do that through His Word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit… Selah.
First, the video in this post is a cut-out of just 3 minutes 42 seconds from an entire message, or even what might be a series of messages, so won’t do justice to giving details as you might want
Second, the statement “unbelievers shouldn’t feel at home in your presence” won’t be wrong if meant in this perspective; an unbeliever shouldn’t feel comfortable to carry out der sinful act around you, if you are truly light and salt. But at the same time, they shouldn’t feel unwelcome around you. Jesus walked and ate with sinners, but one thing was obvious, they saw their sinful state and the need for a saviour, I think that is what Dr Paul Enenche meant.
As regarding to the dressing, giving instructions on how to live, what to do or not do doesn’t defy the fact that we are justified by faith and righteous without works, otherwise, Paul himself would have been guilty of this, as every of his letters contains instructions on living.
Thank you Julius for your contribution, I hope my reply was able to clarify a thing or two.

The essence of Christian Living is to Know Christ and Make HIM known in every aspect of our lives. every part of us is meant to show Jesus! be it the things we eat, wear, say, the way we act, etc. we should be/look like Christ.
someone once said that the word ‘judge’ is one of the most misunderstood words these days. once u correct a person or say something a person doesn’t like, the person assumes u r judging. the Bible instructs us to help one another when we fail/fall. if a person is privileged to point out our shortcomings, we should accept it with all humility and ask for grace to do better. God help us not to live our lives assuming that we are living for you and some things don’t matter, only to hear I knew u not! its well.
