Hello friends,
Welcome to a new month. Today on the journey to significance, we’ll be looking at what Purpose is. In our society today, the concept of purpose cannot be over emphasized.
In reality, your purpose is very essential to living a significant and fulfilled life.
Purpose is defined to be the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exist.
In the words of Myles Munroe “purpose is the original intent in the mind of the creator that motivated him to create a particular item. It is the why that explains the reason for existence. Every product is a child of purpose. In other words, before any product is made, there is a purpose established in the mind of the manufacturer that gives conception to the idea that becomes the substance for the design and production of the product. Thus, purpose precedes production”.
What is your purpose in life?
This question is a very deep one and often times when we really look inwards we tend to ask ourselves why we were created. Finding your purpose is not something you use your own understanding to figure out, or something someone tells you about your existence.
Ephesians 2:10 says “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”
Living your purpose.
If you must discover what exactly you are on earth to do, you must know why you were created. You have to understand why you were created before you try to determine your purpose in life.
It doesn’t take you, your family members, your education or your job to define your purpose. It takes your creator to unveil to you the reason why you were created.
I noticed that most at times most people spend so much living a frustrating and unfulfilled life because they fail to realize that the purpose for which they exist lies in God’s hands and they can only discover it by consistently asking him to reveal it to them.
The fact that you do a lot of stuff does not necessarily imply that you are fulfilling purpose. It will shock you the day find out.
I was watching a program on TV and there was a life, mind and health coach who was really talking passionately about what he’s currently doing. The surprising thing is that he is an engineering graduate and an alumnus of Harvard business school and obviously did some businesses. And the anchor of the program read my mind by asking him why he’s left engineering and business to be a life coach and his answer was centered all on purpose. In his explanation he said he kept asking God what is his purpose here on earth and ever since he has been living a fulfilled life touching lives by being a life coach. He’s name is Lanre Olusola (@lanreolusola). You can look him up on Google.
There are so many like Lanre. At some point you’ll realize that it’s not about the money, or the education, or the fans, or the big cars or house but it’s about finding a true inner fulfillment.
Purpose is the source for fulfillment and significance. Until purpose is known, existence has no meaning.
