Walking in Love
John 3:16
“for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”
“By this we know love; that He laid down his life for us… (1ST John 3:16)” Throughout the bible, love is spoken of in the context of salvation.
Galatians 2: 20, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
Revelation 1: 5, “and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood”
Hence, when we think of Love, we should follow the same context.
Romans 5:7 – 8, “Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Since the definition of love is what God has done for us in Christ, walking in love should be focused on ensuring others have the knowledge of and are grounded in this truth.
Understanding the above, how then can we walk in love?
- Feed God’s word to people (John 21:15 -17): There was no other point as buttressed as this. Jesus went on about it so much that Peter got frustrated. Demonstrate your love for God and people by feeding His word to people. When you teach people the truth of God’s love, you are walking in love.
- Fight for the integrity of the word (1 Tim 1: 3 – 5): Every person you see has the same surname; someone for whom Christ died. The value of a soul is the life of Christ. Hence, anytime you see anyone not being taught the truth of God’s word, you should be grieved. Fight to see people grounded in the truth that is salvation.
Paul said in Acts 20: 26 – 27;
“…Therefore, I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of any of you. 27 For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God…”
With the way you are going about your evangelical ministry, can you sincerely say this at the end of your life? People fought so you could know this truth that has set you free. Fight, so others can also be free.
Grace and Peace.
