I have heard a lot of arguments on who should love more in a relationship; the man or the woman. Most people would say the man, as per, he would be more committed to the relationship if he loves the most. Lol.
Growing up, I was also of the opinion that my man must love me more than I love him. I mean, at least I can trust myself, so I needed something to hold on to for trusting him in the relationship.
Seeing things in a better light now, I wonder, how about if both the man or the woman loves God more than they love each other, ever thought of that? Hear me out.
How do you want to love and be loved? There are different appearances of love and as Christians, we are called to love as Christ loves. This would mean that our love has to be sacrificial, without boundaries and undeserving. This is the standard for our love. This is the kind of love God gave us and a person who doesn’t even know this kind of love cannot give it out.

Remember, feelings are fickle, so even when they do not feel like loving you or treating you right, they will because God says they should. Even when you seem undeserving of their love and sacrifice, they are reminded of God’s love and sacrifices and they act it out with you.

So to the unmarried folks out there, I would advise, “Marry a person that loves Jesus more than you”. Also, choose to love Jesus more than your partner also. Only then would your mind be truly settled.
